Shropshire / Re: PUGH. Bishop's Castle & area, early census

I'm confused (not an unusual state of affairs!)

I've got Thomas PUGH marrying Martha DAVIES in 1860.

I've got their children (from 1871 Census) : William, Mary, Agnes, Alice, George, Lucy Ann (my GG Grandmother)

But I've got Thomas's parents being John and Elenor PUGH -- 1851 census -- not, as I'd thought, John and Mary Smallman.

Told you I was confused!

I'm a newbie to this board -- Shropshire's a new area for me.

I have a PUGH from Bishops Castle branch in my tree too

The furthest I've been able to get back is to Thomas PUGH, son of John PUGH (and Mary PUGH nee SMALLMAN, I think) -- he married Martha DAVIES in 1860. I think he was born in 1837/8. He was living in Hyssington at the time of his marriage, but was born in Bishops Castle, and had moved to Church Stretton by 1861.

Contact me if you think I can be any help.

Jean
