My dad was born in Cootehill near East Knockbride in County Cavan and is from a long line of Duffys in that area. His father was Patrick Duffy the postman of Drumeague born in 1898 and his father was Thomas Duffy of Skeagh who married Catherine McDermott.

Hello All

My great great grandparents were William Neil from Drumgormall in Donaghendry in Ulster, his father was Henry Neill a farmer. William Married Jane O'Neill on 12 October 1865 in Dungannon at the Registrar's office in Dungannon. Jane's was from Ahgahalla in Clonoe and her father is listed as Henry O'Neill, Labourer. The ceremony was witnessed by a Lytle Black and a James Martin. Sadly the mother's names are not listed.

My great grandfather was Joseph O'Neil (must have changed his name back to O'Neill from Neill at some point) a catholic and one of 15 children (not all survived) he married Ellen Cory from Coalisland and my grandmother Mary O'Neill was born in 1917, 3 brothers: Phelim, James & Joseph. They all came from Roughan near Coalisland. I am hoping to find out more about the Henry's and who their wives were but have hit brick walls now as they would have been born around mid 1820's I assume. The pic attached is a pic of my great grannies Joseph and Ellen O'Neill.
