Australia / Re: DEMMOCKS/DIMMOCKS Family
« on: Saturday 02 January 10 01:34 GMT (UK)  »
Hello  Debsm

I am also reseaching the Demmocks family - my grandad Jim was Arthur's brother.  I am interested to know if you have a documented marriage for John Joseph DEMMOCKS and Maud Margaret HATCH as I haven't been able to find one.  Would also like to know what happened to John Joseph's first wife Isabel but have had no success there either.

Regards, Bronwen

Hello JJ Girl

I went to the museum today and they have a folder of Redwood family info.  There was a photo of Charles Redwood and family taken in 1890 which they put onto a CD for me but when I got home there wasn't anything on the CD so will now have to wait they are open again (Thursday) to do anything about it.  The family were named on a separate piece of cardboard as follows:

Back Row:  George, Francis, Olive, Mrs Redwood, Mary (Mother Bernard of Sisters of Mercy), Mr Redwood, Vernon, Alphonso, Ciss
Front Row: Joseph, Leo, Bernadette, Charlotte, Constance, Charles

On another piece of paper there was a numbered list of his children but couldn't find birth dates for any of them in the folder.  There was no indication who had written the list.

1. Alphonso
2. Francis
3. Mary
4. George
5. Olive
6. Vernon
7. Joseph
8. Cis
9. Charles
10. Leo
*Jack Stephen Pessant (died)
11. Charlotte
12. Constance
13.  Bernadette
* Elizabeth (died)

*  These two names were listed as above but not numbered.

I phoned the Marlborough Museum and they have some information about the Redwood family.  I will go and see what they have but probably not until next Tuesday as the research room is only open two days each week.

The "George Fyffe" went to Wellington and Nelson
