Thank you.  I think our man is the clergyman who emigrated to Australia.
I will use your information to see what I can find.
Note: as a catholic priest he would not have married.
Thank you so much for your help.

South Africa / Du Manoir Loreto Thomas O.P.
« on: Wednesday 27 February 19 04:10 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for information to write a short history about Rev. Loreto Thomas Du Manoir.
As a Dominican priest he served as a Chaplain during WW2 attached to the 4th SA Infantry Brigade; Number 10593V Lt. Col L Du Manoir . He was in Johannesburg in 1946.
I have no real information about him. He looks to be in his mid to late 30's at the end of the war in 1946 so I estimate he would have been born around 1910<> and perhaps, deceased by 1980-1990
Links or information about Rev. Loreto Du Manoir would much appreciated if anyone has time to help.
I'm not in South Africa and am finding that links that would usually be expected to show on google just are not there for me. Links that would be apprecciated would be to Deceased Clergy in South Africa Lists or to family genealogy that may be available.
Many thanks

Hi Rob.
Thanks for contacting me. Yes, I too have a copy of Finlators Will.
As you will know the bible was inherited by his son, Rev Finlator.
The bible has the fathers name and date of 1789 on the spine.
In 1868 it was gifted to Jane Warner by her mother. Jane seems to be a descendant of Charlotte Graves’ brother.
There are no family history pages in the bible.

I have done some research and established a family tree on ancestry. Pics and documents are attached in the tree.
If you are on ancestry you can search Finlator Cameron Family Tree.
Offhand I can’t remember if I made it public or left it as a private tree but you can send me a request to view it if it is private.

All I discovered is in the tree on ancestry.
Thanks Rob

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: Beginner to DNA - Head is spinning

Hi Angelfish.
Perhaps the Cymru DNA project or the Britain project might suit you.
Also you can buy it as a printed book to put on your bookshelf for reference.

I had a quick flip through the replys to your original post and didn't notice this. So here is a thought.
Your mams DNA was inherited from her mother who inherited it from her mother who got it from her mother and so on back some 60,000 years ago and it is passed down without much change from mother to daughter.
Your recent documented welsh history does not show far enough back for the DNA results you have.
So if you are 55% Irish it is from more ancient DNA.
Somewhere you will have an Irish grandmother who came to Wales. She will have ancestors who wintered over in the Iberian regions during the last ice age.

Your haplogroup should be a good indication of where your mother line came from.

Nothing shows on my searches so grateful.

I searched - says - no records show for 1880.
Many thanks for your help.

Do you where/how I can access the 1880 census?
