United States of America / Thomas Milne Shewan

Looking for descendants of Thomas Milne Shewan who was born in Aberdeen in 1894. On the 28th of February 1922 Thomas married Mabel Davidson at 323 Hardgate, Aberdeen. Shortly thereafter the couple emigrated to the USA landing on the 3rd of April 1922. They were joining a friend Peter Thomson at 226, West 146th Street, New York. In 1930 Thomas and Mabel were resident at 3958 51st Street, Queens, New York. Thomas died in 1995 in New York aged 90 years. Mabel died in 1988 in Houston, Harris, Texas. I believe some of their chldren still live in the USA. I am related through his grandmother one Jane Shewan, born in Shetland but lived most of her life in the Aberdeen area.

Hi - I am researching descendants of an ALEXANDER TAYLOR B 1835@ Foveran, Aberdeen-Shire (my great grandfather). His father was also Alexander Taylor, a “Labourer” and his mother Jane Hendry (born about 1766) a Domestic Servant (not married to father). Jane's parents were  Alexander Barrock – Agricultural Landowner - and mother Christian Barrock. Christian Barrock's  mothers maiden surname was Brock. Interested if anyone can shed any light on these people. Thanks. Steve Taylor

Hi Clarimer -  I live on the Isle of Skye, Scotland - the ancestral home of the MacQueens of Moy. However I have many relatives still living in the Moy/Farr area. Be happy to meet you if you visit. Kind regards.

Willie MacQueen mentioned above was my mothers first cousin. His father was Hugh MacQueen, Farmer, Ruthven, Parish of Moy, Inverness-Shire  and his mother Marjory Smith. Hugh and Marjory married in 1877 at Daviot, Inverness-Shire. My mother was Isabella Marjory McQueen (Mc and Mac seem to be used interchangeably)  Happy to hear from anyone interested in further information regarding this branch of the family line.
