It seems that he died in Singapore in April 1916 - see this obituary http://www.rootschat.com/links/0870/

It's been many years since I've worked on my family history.  I can't seem to access this obituary any longer.  Any suggestions?

The death certificate arrived in the mail this morning.  Now I have another question.

The cause of death is indicated as:  1(a) Broncho Pneumonia.  What might the 1(a) notation mean?

Rosie guided me in helping me order my Greatgrandfather's death certificate.  I am hoping it will arrive today or early next week.   Once I have it, I will resubscribe to Ancestry so I can continue with the tree I have there.  I really hope to track down more info on their divorce and his remarriage (assuming one even took place).

Yes, that's her.  So now I know they divorced before 1944.  Progress.

They were married 27 December 1926 in London.

I don't have exact dates but I believe it was sometime in the early to mid 1940's, in England.  I have no idea how to get the details on the divorce.

Right man, but this was his first marriage (to my Grandmother).  Both wives were named Florence.
Grandma & Grandpa were divorced and she went on to remarry.  I found that marriage record, so that confirmed that they were, in fact, legally divorced.
I remember hearing that churches here, in Canada, would not marry a divorced person.  So if he did actually marry Florence #2, it would have had to be civil or in a Unitarian church.

My Grandfather, Jack Thomas Pearce, was born in or around 1901 in Dover, Kent, England.  He came to Canada around the time of WW2.  I am trying to find any record of a marriage between granddad and a woman named Florence Skinner.  My mother believes the marriage took place in Montreal, perhaps in the Unitarian church, but it could also have taken place in England or in Ontario.

Would appreciate any help.

Thank you all.  When I tried to obtain the certificate, a few years ago, the charge was refunded on my credit card.

I am going to follow the link that Rosie posted and cross my fingers.
