Thank you very much. For some reason I had difficulty in opening the file to a readable size. It just gets fuzzy when I try to enlarge it. I will keep trying.

I would be interested in any information you may have on William Ward HANNANT's parents and their's etc. etc.. I have them as being George Hannant/Hennant and Mary Ward but I have no proof.

Thankyou. Yes, FamilySearch is a good one. We have one of their Family History Centers close by.

Believe it or not, but I am also doing both sides of my wife's family, CLARKE (paternal) and THOMAS (maternal). And I thought I was going to have a peaceful time in retirement.

Yes, you can't trust anything on the internet.

I have just had a good play around in FreeREG (thank you for telling me about that) and I have found nearly every entry I already have in there. The problem is I have found the following multiple versions of the spelling of HANNANT for the same date/location. eg. Jeremy HENNANT/Jeremiah HENANT, Jeremy/Jeremie HENNANT/HENNANTE and Edmond HENNANT/HENNANTE. Linking the right ones is the most difficult. I must admit so far I have done all of my research on the cheap. ie. Not paid for membership to any site. Maybe that is my problem. But I will just keep flogging away and appreciate greatly input I receive from others such as yourself.

Hello Trish
Thankyou very much for the data. I have attached a .pdf file that shows exactly what I have from William Ward back to a 1526 entry. I have now remembered that I obtained nearly all of my information whilst searching on "Mundia" which is now no longer available by itself. I think it has somehow been incorporated into Ancestory.com
I must admit, I have found so many conflicting entries that I don't know which one is true. I think I need a 6 month holiday in Norfolk. I did like your entry where it had "HENNANT" instead of "HANNANT". As you will see in my attachment, I found one entry that had 3 children of the one family with the surname HENNANT and one HANNANT and their parents were HENNANT.
Oh well. Hopefully I get it all sorted this year.

Hello Dundee
The first place I got the basic information was from the 1841 England Census. See attached.
As for the definite birth date. A few years ago, I sent all my documentation off to a relative who was going to take this further for me. Unfortunately that did not happen and I have now lost that and so I am starting it up again. All I had left was a large spreadsheet with the details from the documents/searches I had done. I cannot remember where I got everything I have. (signs of old age I think. If you are interested I can send that privately as this site does not accept .xls files. I have no positive information for the entries from William Ward back.

Hi Claire

Thank you for the feedback. I have that William as the brother of William Ward. Their other siblings are: Elizabeth, Hannah and Maray.

As for stumbling blocks.

A good example is shown in one of the responses to my request. I have William born in 1776 yet MrsWheelie_1979 (Janice?) has him born in 1768 but we both have him dying in the same year 1843 and with the same number of children.
