Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1891 census
« on: Friday 26 September 08 20:50 BST (UK)  »
Unfortunately not my connection....

In 1889 Joseph Sheldon was residing at 19 Pershore Street when he got married, his father was george sheldon. Joseph was born in West Bromwich.

The wife Joseph married was Florence Sheldon and she lived at 21 Pershore Street. Her parents were Benjamin and Maria Taylor.

I can find Jospeh and Florence on the 1891 census but to take the Sheldon leg of the family back I was hoping to find George Sheldon and his wife / kids.

Can anyone find Pershore Street in Birmingham easily on the census?

I am looking for the occupants of both 19 and 21. Two years before the census my ancestors  lived at these addresses when they married and I am hoping family members may still be there.

Thanks.

Worcestershire / Longdon in 1840?
« on: Saturday 06 September 08 18:52 BST (UK)  »
I think I have found the birth certificate reference for a distant ancestor of mine who was born in Longdon in 1840. The district shown on the BMD page is Upton Upon Severn.

Would someone with a better knowledge of geography / history know if this is right?

He is buried with her and the name held by the cemetery is Alfred John Tracey as is the name on his wife's death certificate. Its not used on his marriage certificate though.

Have not had irish roots mentioned.

Thomas was a mason.

Alfred John Tracey was an engine driver.

I did look at that 1901 census but couldnt find any likely.

I am struggling to find a gt grandfather called alfred john tracey. I have the wedding certificate which has him as 21 years old in 1906 when he marries mary ann may belcher in twigworth at the parish church.

His father is called thomas tracey.

Can parish records add anything to the information i have gathered from the wedding certificates?

A vicious family rumour has it that either he or his father came from Canada.
