Hello
I have recently started looking at my family tree and following this particular branch. I am a descendant of Joseph Johnson of Hemingfield - and I see that my great-great grandfather appeared at County Assizes on the 9th March 1844 it appears that he got a light sentence for manslaughter along with a few more. I would be interested to know the details of this event
I am new to this site and came across this by accident - but I think your chat is relevant and I would like to learn more. I am also curious as to which quarry Joseph Johnson owned as stated in the 1871 Census.
I also know that my grandmother Mary Elizabeth Johnson married Albert Newton (1909) and lived at Tingle Bridge, later moving to Sheffield. I am the daughter of one of their sons Cyril Newton and would like to hear from anyone researching this side. Many thanks for reading!
