Thanks a lot, Helen, will be looking forward to that!
I don't know much about Thomas Wicks Rodway but I saw something on British History Online saying Thomas Rodway owned a mill in Rodborough area.
("Little Mill" I think.)
His son John Rodway,1765 to 1833, my gtgtgt grandfather, bulit Selly Hall in Selly Oak Birmingham shortly before his death.
He married Susannah Barron in 1800, 22 Sept I think.
Their children were: John Rodway,bn 1802.
James Barron Rodway (my gt gt grandfather) bn 1807
Henry Barron Rodway, bn 1809-1810.
Frances Rodway, who married Thomas Chopping.
Susannah Rodway who married Philip Henry Mills.
Lucy Young Rodway, who married Thomas Benbow, a surgeon who died young.
Have a nice weekend
Sue

 Hi Helen,
Thanks very much for your reply today.
I am in NZ, where my grandfather, James Alphonsus Shear/s, emigrated to about a century ago.
He was the youngest son of Elizabeth Agnes Rodway, bn 1848, grand-daughter of Thomas Wicks Rodway's son John Rodway, bn 1765.
Would love to hear anything you know about the Lathams such as how many siblings Frances had, who her parents and grandparents were, etc.
Thanks again,
Sue

 Hullo,
Thomas Wicks Rodway was my gt gt gt gt grandfather but I have never been able to find out anything about his wife Frances Latham, except they married 1763.
Would love to hear some more about Frances's brother John Latham and where you got this info from.
Thanks
Sue

Hi , I have a Mary Taylor, bn c 1778 Earls Croome and married James Pensam/Pensham 1798 Earls Croome.
On the censuses for Birmingham for 1851 and 1861 she lists her birthplace as Fladbury.
Could she be related to your Taylors?

My gt gt grandmother was Ann Smith/Mitton, bn 1837 Ainstable.
Her older sister was Eliza who married Thomas Collingwood.
Would you know anymore about the ancestors of the Smiths?
Eliza and Ann's parents were Henry Smith and Agness Atkinson.
Henry (and brother Horatio Joseph and sister Elizabeth Sarah)'s dad was Joseph.
I had thought they came from London but apparently they came from Ainstable.

Durham / Re: Taylor, Robinson, Routledge

Could these Routledge/Robinsons be connected to the John Routledge Robinson who married my gt grandfather's sister Mabel Matilda Mitton in 1909?
Trying to trace their 8 children born 1910 to 1930.
We have some nice pix of the family I would be happy to share.
Also any descendants of Rowland Mitton and Annie Maude, Sarah Ann Mitton and Charles Riley, Eliza Mary Mitton and Sydney Ernest Aylward, John Mitton and Sarah Alice Spencer, Henry Mitton and Marcella Burt.
Have recently found that the eldest brother Joseph Mitton bn 1859 changed his name to Smith when married an Ann Smith, coincidentally the same name as his mother.

I think Fanny Julia Mills may have been the "Rodway girl" who married in Belgium.

Hullo,
Interested to see your conversation as I am also descended from this family.
My gt grandmother was Elizabeth Agnes Rodway bn 1848 and she was living with her parents at Bristol Rd in 1851.
Her grandmother was Susannah Rodway nee Barron and Susannah Mills would have been named after her.
Will have to check my research but I know that one of the Rodway girls married a Belgian man.
There

Hullo, interested to see this thread as I am also descended from the Rodway family and all the names are familiar.
I think I recall that Susannah Mills was looking after her grandmother Susannah Rodway nee Barron in 1841.
Also that one of the Rodway girls married a Belgian, in Belgium.
My gt grandmother was Elizabeth Agnes Rodway/Shear, another grand-daughter of Susannah B and daughter of James Barron Rodway and Marianne Pensam.
