If the registers are not at West Yorkshire Archives, try Wakefield Council.  Knottingley comes under their control.

Hello MrsA

Edward Joseph may yet be in the cemetery, it's just that the transcribed registers seem to stop in the late 80's.  It may be worth doing a Carole suggests and contact the Leeds Bereavement Services.

Hi gnorman,

Charlotte Morris buried on 5 Sept 1969 in Crookes Cemetery, Sheffield.  Grave no 271, AA section, consecrated.  She died in Wharncliffe Hospital.

Also Frank Morris in same grave, buried on 27 Sep 1949.  He died in City General Hospital.

Also Gertrude Marian Howard buried 13 July 1995.

From Sheffield indexers site.

Hi Constanza

Sorry for this late contribution, I have only just seen this.  I am the process of uploaded the photos of St Michael East Ardsley to Yorkshire Indexers.  The Hunter plot you are looking for is a double kerb grave at the rear of the church.  Follow the path from the gate left, round to the rear, past the cremation area, past another 6 or so graves, and you will find it next to the path on your left. Please pm me if you want any more info/copies of photos.

There are 5 other Hunter memorials uploaded to Yorkshire Indexers so far.  If you create a log in on the site you should be able to see and search the photo Gallery.

The numbering system I have used is per the Morley FHG MI's which follow the church's own plan, according to the vicar.

Hi Susan,

It’s very possible the baby lived a bit longer.  Have you tried searching on GRO.gov.uk, using mother’s maiden name will narrow down results, use 9b in the Vol box instead of place name, this would catch all the reg districts in the Leeds area.

Regards
Pauline
