Thanks again Boo, have managed to get a look at the death register on Scotlands People which gives cause of death.  Jenny

I have been looking for the death of Allen C PEEL since finding a monumental inscription in Henshaw churchyard twenty five years ago.  His parents Ernest William & Annie (nee NICHOLSON) PEEL are buried close by.  He was born in 1929 and the inscription reads 'Died 9th August 1950 in his 21st year'.  Apparently he died in a motorbike accident according to family hearsay.  I cannot find his death in England and I have checked Korean conflict deaths, newspapers on line do not cover this area for this date.  Thanks Jenny ???

Thought I would try a different angle and looked for deaths.  These 2 could be possiblities
William P IVES b1858 died Northampton 1916
Thomas W IVES b1860 died Southwark 1923
might be easier to go backwards

Dear Green Valley

Thanks so much for this and sorry I haven't replied sooner.  Now all I have to do is work out what the heck he was doing in Antwerp!

Once again thanks, this has been a great help

Hi

Would it be possible for you to translate the attachment? It doesn't have to be word perfect, just the general points for family history.

Thanking you in advance

I would assume that in his role he may have been aware of many of the officers, their duties and the secret nature of the business carried out there.  This information would be very dangerous if it fell into the wrong hands, therefore his reluctance to talk about it was probably deeply ingrained.

Working at such a place he would have had to signed the 'offical secrets act' whereby if he disclosed information 'useful to an enemy' would mean up to 14 years in prison.  I think this was actionable many years after the war ended.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Census 1841/1851 EARP Norton Canes

Lydia EARP is part of my tree and her mother died shortly after her birth.  The family seemed to disintergrate around this time with the older children working or living with other families.  The WILLETTS were neighbours, too young to be Lydia's grandparents, but they may be related in another way.
