London and Middlesex / Re: William Kemp

That's brilliant..how did you find it?
Doesn't sound a good way to go...and the second of her sons to die. I guess that made it easier to follow her son to Ascot. The family lived in the slums of Camberwell from 1814, so I imagine fresh air and overlooking the racecourse was a real culture shock
Thank you for your help

No middle name so that may narrow it down

Thanks for hunting
I imagine he stayed in Camberwell when his family moved to Ascot where they lived in a hotel/ boarding house but I can't find him in the 1939. And no military record so it made me wonder if he emigrated..

Returning to my family tree after many years...
Ive lost track of William Kemp b 28.9.1906 Camberwell
He is in the 1921 with mother and siblings in Holbeck Row, working as a messenger boy but nothing after that-no marriage, military record, death or move abroad that I can find
His family had moved to Ascot in the 1939 register

Any ideas?

No. Although I am an ancient rootschatter I haven't done any research since I lost about ten years research a while back and my expertise was London Norfolk and Belgium.I don't have access to any paid databases these days. My curiosity aroused because I may buy a house there and would like to reintroducenquire some of the original style. The entire Street has plastic windows and doors....whilst they keep the drafts out I'm a pernickety sort

Thanks for the quick replies. The map link you gave me shows that nearby Cecil st (stone fronts) was complete in 1883 and Albany St (brick) in the making. Only a small block of even numbers built then.

I am trying to identify when this street was built. Can anyone enlighten me?
What kinds of people lived here? Any census info for no. 33?
Thanks
