Dear occupier at Ravenswood House Bunclody.
Have just been looking on my table with regard to Bram Stoker did he live at Ravenswood House ,and I have found that he did. I know he was born in Clontarf.
I was interested in this topic as I also lived at Ravenswood in the 1950,s

I did contact you some time ago with a little bit of my memories , but I seem to have lost the notes on rootschat.
Hope this might be of help
Neil Carter.

Hi Meredith,it was good to hear from you , and trust that you are enjoying  living in Ravenswood.
Our family lived there in the fifties ,our father was managing director at a textile factory in Clohamon not far away .
It really was a beautiful place to live, the majority of the land ,we grew barley for the Guinness  brewery, we also had our own
Cow for milk ,a large number of poultry and fattening pigs , are the   pig stye,s still intact??.
In those days we had a generator to provide electric, and the water supply was pumped from the bottom of the drive inside a clump of  shrubs  near the lodge, and was then pumped to a large tank in the top field then free flowed to the house.
A man called George Earl lived in the lodge then and did light work for us and if I remember rightly a fellow called Eddie plunket  who lived down the Bunclody road used to help out weeding the drive.
Blissful days ,I am now in my seventies but still remember the good time we spent there, I sincerely hope you will be as happy, Take care and thank you for getting in touch. If I can recall any thing else I will try and write them down .  Neil Carter
