I lived in the prefabs which were near to the heaton park train station, I have to say that the huts I remember were just the same as the one in the photo, I was under the impression that they were used by the army in the war.
I went to Heaton Park school, from 1954 to 1962 it was known as an open air school. I do remember the folding cots, which we had to use every afternoon in the nursary, "not something I appreciated"
But I loved going to school, My favourite teachers was Mr Hargreaves, Mrs Mathews and Miss Walton the Head Mistress.
Does anyone remember a school trip to the Manchester Ship Canal? We went on a barge I think! The smell of the canal was pretty bad. I remember Shirley Whitehead. Barbara. and  Roberta

Hi
I lived in the Prefabs in Elmere drive, with my parents.
I went to Parkside school. I used to love the Great Lion & Lioness on the steps of the Heaton Hall.
In the summer my Mum and my Aunty would take myself and my two cousins for picnics down by the swings, and on really warm days we were allowed to paddle in the paddling pool, then go up to the pets corner. We used to love those days and still talk about them .
