I am looking for Ganleys in Manchester with a Brenda Ganley who has a sister in the US somewhere in Connecticut. I believe we may be related. Are they any connection to you?

Hello,
I have some Flemings in my family. My great grandfather married a Nora Fleming and I know that she had a brother Timothy. I do not know where they came from only that my great grandfathers name was John O'Flaherty and they settled in Ballyhaunis,County Mayo. Nora died in1927. I do not know how old she was but her husband I think was born around 1860. If you find any marraige records of these two,it would be great. As you know they get married in the womans parish church and if you do not know where she came from, this is very difficult to find!
Thanks Tracey. ;)

You know that they have heritage sites in Ireland now that you can trace your family tree, although there is a fee. For example there are two in Mayo, the south and north family history centers.
Back in the day,my mother said that there was one priest for many churches and each would have mass at a different time and all records were kept where the priest kept his main residence. then all the records were sent to the main town of the area for registration which in my case was Castlebar,County Mayo.
If you can find the parish names in or around that time that will help and also there are lots of death records in Ireland at Interment.net.that should help.
Good luck
Tracey.

Dear Sue,
It seems like Mary Ganly came out of no where when she married Patrick O'Flaherty. At EASTMAYO.ORG they are gradually putting all marraige and Birth notices on line for all to see. I found their sons wedding date that way and I contacted them and they are hoping to have more done shortly.
I am hoping to travel to Ireland next year and go to some churches and lots of graveyards!!!!!!!

Did Bartolomew have a sister Mary by any chance?
My Great grandmother was born around 1830 also and also married an O'Flaherty.
