Thank you 😃

In the 1881 and 1891 census there's a grand daughter living with g & m, named Mary Jane Tracey born 1880 in Renfrew.  When searched on Scotland's people I found Mary Jane Tracey born in Renfrew but dismissed it due to her mothers name....Mary Jane Robertson.

Margaret died in 1892 in dalziel Lanark, death certificate does not give previous spouse, but on certificate for marriage to Daniel Barr it states 'widow'

As for Daniel Barr, I can't trace of him after 1891 either

Her parents names are still a mystery too

But I now have new avenues to follow Mary Jane Robertson and Mary Jane Tracey 😃

I don't know where the family was for the 1871 census 😞

1869 Catherine Robertson was born, birth registered eastern district, old monklands
Address: row dunbeth

1871 george Robertson, birth and death registered parish of dalziel
Address for birth: ????? Square, craigneuk
Address for death: ????? Square, motherwell

I did consider this http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b289/dora12345/af39f7c262ae08259ad2e9d3c742d7b3.jpg

But some names and ages are wrong and it adds a mother in law of an unknown name

As usual I started with what I new and had records for 😃
I started with my gran 😃
Mary airlie Robertson, born 14 July 1897, Hamilton lanarkshire, parents james Robertson and margaret algie, married 8 February 1883, dalziel lanarkshire

I searched for her parents marriage and learned great grandparents names
George Robertson, coal miner, deceased
Margaret Barr, formerly Robertson, maiden surname Reilly

I could now search for great grandfathers birth
James Robertson, 1 October 1863, Bathgate Linlithgow, his parents were married march 1858 in manchester.

Unable to find marriage 😞

Searched great grandfathers siblings births hoping to find marriage details
John Robertson b 1861, marriage dec 1855 manchester
Margaret Robertson b 1865, marriage mar 1853 manchester
Maria Robertson b 1867, marriage nov 1854 manchester
Catherine Robertson b 1869, marriage sep 1855 Lancashire
George Robertson b 1871, marriage July 1859 manchester

Huge variations in date but location the same....still no luck in finding marriage 😞

Went back to grandparents marriage records which gave me another route to great grandparents
George Robertson, coal miner, deceased
Margaret Barr formerly Robertson, maiden surname Reilly

Searched for death certificate for george Robertson....found nothing 😞

Searched for Margaret's marriage to Barr
Margaret married Daniel Barr, 1872 dalziel lanarkshire her parents are listed as
James Reilly and Catherine Fitzpatrick

Searched for Margaret's death
11 January 1872, dalziel lanarkshire parents listed as
John Reilly and margaret shields

Back to george Robertson - he died before 1872, because margaret married Daniel Barr this year.
George and Margaret's youngest child george was born in 1871, so assumed I would find George's death if I searched between 1869 and 1872.....nothing 😞

I have looked at 1901 records but I don't know what to look for - information I have regarding family is from mid 1800's, but from studying the 1901/11 records nothing ties in.

The tree on family search is mine, it's imported it from ancestry :)

I'm sorry.......was too focused on providing relevant details, just forgot to say what I would like help with  ::)
I would like help with -
My research shows that my great grandmother margaret ann algoe had 2 siblings, james and john.  I know about john, I found him on 1891 census living with my great grand parents in lanarkshire.

With regards to john all I've found is his baptism record.  I would like to find out more about him and if there were anymore siblings.

Margaret, james and johns mother was eliza Jane healy - I've been unable to find birth or baptism record for her.
I did find one for her sister eleanor, born 1849 - would like more about her

This afternoon I discovered another sister, margaret, born 1826, married Joseph Kelso and emmigrated to Canada.

Due to the dates of the 3 sisters births, 1826, 1844 and 1849, I would assume there are more siblings - who are they?

As for the parents john healy and margaret Mitchell all I know is from griffiths and tithe records - where did they come from, when did they marry and when and where did they die?

Thank you, you're a star :)

I never thought to search scottish records for Margaret's family  ::)

All my research was based on details from margaret algie's marriage certificate.

Margaret Algie married James Robertson, Feb 1884 in parish of dalziel, Lanark.  The marriage certificate says both her parents were deceased.

The links you provided were fantastic  :D

I have learned soooooooooooooooooooo much

It would appear everything was a LIE  :o

Margaret's mother was very much alive in 1884.  She was living in abbey poorhouse with sons John and William  :o
