Wondering if there is anyone out there who might have access to the above subject and would be good enough to help me.

I am looking for the year and city in Quebec where the following were married.  I am also looking for where they were born.

JOHN CHARLES MARSHALL (born c 1774) &
MARY HOLAHAN or HOOLIHAN (born c. 1782- this marriage would have taken place somewhere between 1798-1805

Thank you in advance for any help.

Fife / Re: 1895 Kirkcaldy Marriage

Looked up all the manses of Kirkcaldy and the closest one I could come up with is "Pathhead Manse", but when I look at the copy again I don't think so.  I thought at first that the first letter was a "B" but perhaps it is a "P", and then the last few letters looks like "field". There are no manses listed in the Gazateer with a "B" or has "field" in the name.

I'm not local just trying to help.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / burslem cemetery
« on: Thursday 23 April 09 16:23 BST (UK)  »
Is there some kind person who lives near the Burslem Cemetery who would be able to photograph a gravestone for me and email it.  I have just found out that my great-grandfather and daughter are buried there in Grave #12468-

John Coventry Hewitt and his daughter Eva Charlotte Hewitt
both died in 1915 - John in April and Eva in August.

As I live in Canada it is improbable that I will ever get to do this myself. I would be forever grateful. Thank you.

Completed Census Requests / 1911 census

Would some kind person enlighten me as to what I am doing wrong.  I think I have found my great grandfather, John Hewitt, Wolstanton, Staff. on the 1911 census.  How do I find out who was living in the same household?  I don't want to order the original transcript until I am sure that this John Hewitt is indeed my ancestor.   Thank you in advance.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / MI's Wolstanton
« on: Monday 26 January 09 16:15 GMT (UK)  »
I have finally found out where my great grandfather died after many years of searching.  His name is John Coventry Hewitt, born 1852 St. Pancras, and died between June 1st and August 31st 1915 in Wolstanton.  Also his daughter Eva
Charlotte Hewitt who died the same year around December.

Wondering if there is any person out there with MI booklets of Wolstanton,  who could look this up for me.  It would be greatly  appreciated.

Thank you.   Torrygirl

Dumfriesshire / Re: John Howat

This is a longshot.

There is a John Howat - Ag. Lab., wife Jane (Jean) and four children, Samuel 11, Thomas, 4 Jean 6, and Marrion l, living in Kirkcaldy, Durrisdeer, Dumfries on the 1841 census.

On IGI is listed a Henry Howatt and Janet Gilchrist, married on Nov. 13, 1802 in Bonhiel, Dunbarton.  They have children listed as follows:

James 1803
John Feb. 5, 1805 ***born Bonhiel, Dunbarton
Janet 1807
Portfield 1808
William 1810
Henry 1815
Marrion 1818****

The only reason I thought perhaps this might be the family you are seeking is because your John Howat named one of his children, Marrion.  Perhaps this is just coincidence, but perhaps worth looking into.

Is there anyone out there who would have access to the Voters List for the years 1948 - 1951.  I am interested in the names of who was living at 57 Colmore Row, Birmingham 3 during that time.  Torrygirl

I see the surname of interest to you in Avoch is Munro.  I have the Monumental Inscriptions booklet from the Old Churchyard, Avoch and there are many Munros listed with inscriptions.  If this is of any good to you please let me know and I will do my best to help.  Torrygirl
