Hello!

Sorry for not getting back on this page for a few weeks.  Super busy around here!

I too am very excited about connecting with you both, and think PM is probably the best way to better connect.  I'm looking so forward to connecting the dots and learning more about my family, past and present!

Thanks and have a great day today!
Dianna

Well, this is exciting!  Donna was one of my aunts - the 3rd child of my Grandpa Ben and Grandma Dee - she passed away in 2005, just within a short time of my Grandpa.  Marilyn, their first born was the owner of the machinery company.  She has since retired.

I have some info posted on  Find a Grave website.  I've started virtual cemeteries there and I have a lot of info on my Facebook pages too.  I guess we should take some of this conversation offline - since many of the people you are looking to connect the dots are still alive and I don't feel quite right about posting their info without their permission on a public page.

Have you stumbled onto this link yet?  This is Margaret on her Wedding Day.  I LOVE this picture.  http://www.umvphotoarchive.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/scdpl/id/1388/rec/1

I have a few more family pix, some are packed as I just moved again (military), but I know about where they are.  My father has a large book made by my Aunt Marilyn (his sister) with a lot of pix and stories as well that I'd like to get my hands on to scan.

I have not joined Ancestry.com yet, been thinking about it.  Have you joined yet?  If so, is it worth it?

I'm also thinking about springing for my brothers DNA swab test to see how far back we can trace our roots.

Can't wait to share more info, but I need to figure out on this site to provide private email to each other without sharing it with the world.

Anyway  - I'm looking forward to learning more!

Thanks!
Dianna

Hello everyone,

I seem to be searching for the same information, perhaps on the same family.  Margaret Jane McConaghy married my Great Grandfather, Leander David in 1910, and my Grandfather, Benjamin John David was born June 3, 1911.  They had a second son, George, I believe in 1914 or so, but George died at the age of 12, and I do not know why.  I understand she came to the States through Canada and Detroit.  I was do not know who she may have been traveling with at the time and have been unable to find any immigration information so far.

Her son - my grandfather -  Benjamin John David, married Delores Elizabeth Meeker - and they moved out to California in the 1940's.   Delores, was either born in Marshalltown or Davenport - I don't have my notes in front of me (they are packed away I need to find them), but she and my grandfather were from those towns, I just can't recall which one was from which town off hand.

I am aware of and I have pictures of both John and Nancy (McLaughlin) McConaghy, but that is all the info I have about them.  I used to have info farther back but it was lost 30 years ago while relocating.

Does any of this match anything you have found regarding your family?  Anyone is welcome to copies of the pix I have if you do not have any, if this is the same family tree.

Thanks,
Dianna
