Hello kakr100, William Oman of Sandwick, Orkney while stationed in Churchill had, William Oman, (metis) b. abt 1801 Churchill.  I am trying to find more information on this William Oman of Sandwick, unfortunately with no luck.

There were two existing William Omand's, one was stationed at York Factory from Stromness, Orkney and the other was stationed at Churchill from Sandwick, Orkney.  I see no HBC biography sheets made on them but the HBC archives did send me a breakdown of there services.  Here I will just list William Oman stationed at Churchill's:

1783 (June 20) Contested? into HBC service - Psh Sandwick (Servants Contracts)
1783/92 Labourer - Churchill Dist Psh Sandwick
1784/91 Labourer
1791 (Sept 2) Recontracted as Whaler "Now of Churchill Factory" Ork Sandwick
1792/94 Whaler
1795 Cook - Churchill
1796 Labourer - Churchill
1797 Cook
1798 Cook - Churchill Age 37 Home
1798 Was Passenger from Churchill to Europe per "Queen Charlotte"
1799 Was Passenger from Europe to Churchill Psh Sandwick Age 48 (Ships Log 163.170)
1799 Psh Stromness (Servants Contracts)
1799/1800 Labourer - Churchill (List of Servants HB)
1803 "A truly faithful diligent and good man.  Home.  Has been twenty years here."
1804 Labourer Psh Sandwick Orkney Where stationed - Factory. Returns home. "A very good and industrious servant.  (Churchill River List of Servants)
1805 Was passenger on "King George" from Churchill to Europe. Age 52 (ships Log 202)

Hello kakr100, it sounds like you and I are researching the same ancestor.  William Oman while stationed at Churchill indeed had two children, William Oman b. abt 1801 Churchill (my gg-grandfather), and Mary Oman.  I have always wondered what happened to him after he returned home.
