Replying to an old post regarding Fowler family in Bangor (County Down). On ny husband's tree I have a Francis W. Fowler, married in Bangor a couple of years before 1892.  The bride's surname was Agnew and it appears the family emigrated to Northbridge, Worcester, Massachusetts USA around 1911.  Hoping this is helpful.

Thank you.  Joseph Smith from Seend in Wiltshire,  was the father of Sidney Smith who was then the father of Margaretta. I have just started looking at this side again so unsure of dates but around 1800 for sons Sidney and Samuel.

I believe my husband is a descendant of the Smith family in Wiltshire that you mention. Sidney Smith's daughter married Robert Elling.  Please be in touch if you think we have a match.

Regarding the above.....are you still interested in the Roadknight connection or has it been disproved? My husband's DNA test indicates several matches to the Roadnight family in England and Australia. Please be in touch if you are interested

i AM NOT SURE WHO WILL RECEIVE THIS REPLY (A BIT OF A DUNCE!) BUT WILL INCLUDE BOTH.

Thank you yes, they are my Barrows. I did not have any of that information. It gives me more to go on. and for Philezra, no I believe my Isaac Barrow was the son of Isaac and Mary and born 1892. He married Betty Atkinson in 1814.
Thank you both.

I have a Mary Barrow, daughter of Isaac Barrow and Betty Atkinson who married William Farrand and came to Australia about 1850(ish). I believe her sister Alice married Edward Wright Moon, both marriages were in Bolton and are connected.

Hello,  many of my Smiths were musicians, bandmasters etc. Samuel born 1820-1825 was a bandmaster with Madras Native Infantry, I believe his brother Edward was a fife major with the same. I am still trying to prove all this. Samuel's suspected half-brother Robert Henry gave his father's name as Joseph. Since beginning my tree I have found that bandsmen were almost always Indo-Britons which means the original Joseph was probably the son of a British soldier and an Indian Lady.
No information on Sarah but some other surnames of interest are Taylor, Rebeiro, Carthy, Prout, Wallis and Kingsley and Earl. My lot seemed to travel between Madras and Moulmein in Burma and two of the later Smiths (1880's) joined the Duke of Cornwall's light Infantry as buglers/musicians.

Could you send any surnames that you are interested in?  I have many more than the above, since  there were so many deaths from cholera, childbirth, war etc many of mine married more than once.
Yes, needle in a haystack, a dreadful name for researching is Smith (or Smyth) it seemed to be interchangable according to who was filling out documents.
