Hi to all,
Many thanks to all, particularly Brummygirl, who have helped my cousin lyn22 in her/our quest for information on our Burke roots. Lyn & I are also in contact & helping each other. I never cease to marvel at the generous help given by members of the genealogical fraternity to each other.
I've been researching the Burke family of Coventry (both in England as well as our branch in Australia) for the past 45 years, by there is always extra information coming to hand, e.g. the burial records from London Road Cemetery.
In 1990 I wrote a rather amateurish family history, as I then understood it (see Dominick Burke's Descendants - Coventry, England to Australia, Donald James Burke 1990, ISBN 0 646 02340 3). The Coventry Public Library has a copy. Since then I have gleaned much more information with the assistance of some of my distant English cousins.
Happy hunting everyone,
Donald Burke.
