I'm looking for any information on the branch of this Lincolnshire branch of the Martin family.

(1)Charles Martin married (2)Elizabeth Seamor in abt 1827. Their children were (3)Henry born on 1 Aug 1829, (4)Charles born abt 1832, (5)Julius born abt 1834, (6)Robert born abt 1837 and (7)William born abt 1842.  I also believe there is a son (8)George.

I am related to (3)Henry, who lived in Gedney, Lincolnshire, and was married to (9)Sarah (Ann?) Burton.  They had 12 children: (10)William-1854, (11)Hannah-1856, (12)Julius-1857, (13)George-1859, (14)Emma-1861, (15)Harry-1865, (16)Minnie-1867, (17)Flora-1870, (18)James-1871, (19)Tom-1872, (20)Edward-1875, and (21)Mary-1877.

Of the (1)Charles' children (5)Julius went to Australia in 1856, while (4)Charles and (7)William came to Michigan around the Civil War.  (8)George came to Michigan later.

I am related to (1)Charles' grandchild (15)Harry, (3)Henry's son, who came to America in 1885 to Richland, Michigan, where he first worked for his Uncle (7)William, then his Uncle (8)Charles.  (14)Emma, (11)Hannah, (21)Mary and (16)Minnie also "came over".

My gg Grandfather (15)Harry died in Galesburg, Michigan, May 1948, age 78 years.

Thanks for any help you may give to extend this family tree.

Mark,
I am very pleased to find your Martin Family blog on RootsChat.  You and I are related.  I'm sure my gg Grandfather Henry is your gg Grandfather Julius' brother.  All the dates and locations fit perfectly.

My lineage is... gg Grandfather - Henry (dob 1 Aug 1829), g grandfather - Harry (dob 11 Apr 1865), grandfather - Cladus, father - Ked.

I also see you live in Australia.  My sister, who is the real family genealogist will be in Brisbane in early March.  I am hoping you can help her extend our family tree to Julius' lineage.

All we know about Julius comes from my grandfather Cladus' oral history.  I've typed an excerpt below.

I hope you get this fairly soon, but I see you haven't posted to RootsChat in several years.

Best Wishes,
GKMart

The Martin Family
Henry Martin was born in Gedney, Lincolnshire, England on 1 August, 1829.  Henry was a superintendent of royal estates on the east coast of England and supervised the farming population.  Half of the house was set up as a commissary.  One of his jobs was to go into the commissary and get one gallon of beer for the family's every meal.  Henry's brothers did not stay in England.  One [Julius?] went to Australia, making his fortune raising sheep.  He later had a catle ranch in Alberta, Canada.  Charles and William came to Michigan around the Civil War.  [and so on...]
