Flintshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 & 1861 Census Lookup - Williams
« on: Sunday 04 November 12 05:11 GMT (UK)  »
This is great. Mike,I think we have chatted before. Ebenezer was my gg grandfather. I think I may have discovered Jane Williams (wife of William) may have been an Edwards. I will fill in more when I have verified that info. I had not seen the 1841 census info ( as far as I can remember ) .I have not had Ancestry.com in years.

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Searching for Thomas Burt
« on: Sunday 04 November 12 04:07 GMT (UK)  »
Redda, I searched for Sarah wife of Thomas Burt. I posted this about 7 years ago.
I am looking for information, (and any methods ) regarding my ggg grandfather william Williams, a miner, born about 1798 in Cyffylliog, Denbighshire. (so says the 1851 census). He married Jane (maiden name unknown), and had at least 4 children. Ebenezer ( my gg grandfather b 1842 Dymeirchion ),John Williams ( b 1840, Dymeirchion) and Jane Williams (b,1835 Newmarket) and Margaret Williams (b. 1833 Newmarket).
The 2 girls seem to be in Liverpool in 1861 as a niece to Thomas and Sarah Burt. Sarah was born in Dymeirchion about 1810.

I do not have ancestry.com anymore, but you may have solved my Jane Williams history. I am a little out of touch with this search from 7 years ago. but I obviously, at the time, found the 2 Williams girls with Thomas and Sarah Burt in 1861 as nieces. If they are nieces, then a good chance Edwards was Jane's (b 1799) maiden name. especially since Sarah is from the same area (Dymerchion/Tremerchion)

If you have any other info, I would appreciate hearing from you. If you have ancestry, I would love to see copy of this entry in 1861.

Rhy, great to hear from you. I have had a lot of trouble tracking my Prossers.

Frederick Prosser was my great uncle. His sister Mabel Antoinette Prosser was my grandmother. My great grandfather was Walter Prosser.

The information I had on Frederick was given to me by Richard Hoskins in England who is son of Matilda( Prosser ) Hoskins.

I have been searching for Prossers, and have almost given up.

I would love to know more and be able to add to my tree.

Peter, Emsgirl and Mike.

Since my last posting I have also discovered the family of Ebenezer living in Graig. I am fairly sure this is them.

Mike , what is Margaret's married name and where did she marry. I have tried to find her marriage , but way too many Margaret Williams. I would like to know more.

Ems girl, thanks for the info, I am hoping, in the near future to visit Wales and England, and plan to do some research in the Graig area.

Peter, yes Dymerchion and Tremerchion seem interchangeable. I see you are looking for Rowlands and Wynnes. Ebenezer married a Mary Wynne , who was widowed froma  Rowlands. Her father was Thomas Rowlands , I would like to know if you have any further info on these families.

Looking for information on Frederick Prosser (MY GREAT UNCLE) , Musical Director born in Abertillery , Monmouthshire in 1880. Moved to Swansea area in early 1900's

Frederick had 3 daughters.
1. Vera who became a Williams
2. Win who married late in life
3 Bronwyn, who lived with Aunt.

Vera had a son named Colin Williams. Colin was still alive last I heard in Treboeth.

ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I appreciate all your input.

I have also checked North Wales BMD. That 1846 showed up for me as well. I discounted it because everything points to a 1842-43 birth in St. Asaph/ Tremeirchion (from 1871-1901 census) It was called Flintshire in those cesus. I am frustrated with this side of my family. I hope to make a trip to England/Wales within the next year, and hope to do some searches.

I have ancestry.com (including uk). I hope this 1851 comes out soon.

Again, thank you so much for your input.
