Hi I think this is the “Ancient Order of Free Gardeners” as it has the pruning knife.  I have something similar with a shield on it. I believe the order was Scottish and moved down into the north if England. I understand it is still active. I will try you get you some more information as I know someone with more information on this order.
You can also contact the curator at Freemasons Hall in London; they are based in Great Queens Street. I found they were very helpful.

Hi I also picked up this via Google.

My Grandfather was Percy Cooper who owned the fish and chip shop. This was next to Fosbrooks cloths shop which I believe was next to the Co-op store.

My mothers grandparents also lived in Church Fields. I live in Greenhill Kidderminster. I do have an scan of an article from the Kidderminster shuttle regarding the shop which was demolished to make way for the ring road around 1964-5.

As stated the original thread is now closed so have been unable to contact Treefan.

Also my mother worked with Alf Tabs Daughter and I went to school with his grandson.

I would be interested is anyone has any old photos or other information regarding the Horsefair or the chip shop in general.

Regards

Can anyone tell me exactly when in the 1960's the demolition of the buildings took place in the Horsefair area to make way for the building of the then new Kidderminster ring road please?

Thank you.
Treefan.

Hi Treefan you asked about the fish and chip shop run by my grandparents Beatrice & Percy Cooper. I believe it was knocked down around 1964-5 as i can just about recall going there with my parents. I do have some photos and press cuttings. Please contact me for further information.
