Thank you both for the census and the map which helps to explain the area for me.
This census seems to be correct with the Geoghegan dates. Possibly they went to live there after the death of their parents. Their must be another son named John. Still haven't found the link as Denis Miggin is single
The family names are continually reused between the families with my James Owen Geoghegan naming his daughter Rose Geoghegan b Sydney.

Hi, I am hoping that someone can help with Kildakey looks ups.
I am looking for records relating to Geoghegan family from Moyrath Kildakey.

 James Joseph Geoghegan/Geagoghan dob 23 Oct 1808 dod 6 Dec 1874 married Margaret Malone abt 1833, b 1806 d abt 1856.
Son Peter abt 1834. I have no other information on him
son James Owen Geoghegan dob 1835. Immigrated to Australia.
not sure if they had more children.
James Owen Geoghegan immigrated to Australia and through Australian newspapers I located his fathers Death notice stating Moyrath Kildakey. Also many references to John Miggins family. I am trying to work out the relationship. His children are Thomas, Owen, Mary, Margaret , Ann all came to Australia with the depositors being James Miggin/Miggins. All from Kildakey. James Owen Geoghegan refers to them as cousins and Thomas Miggins named his house "Meath" and all were invited to funerals in the newspapers. I am hoping that maybe Miggins shows up as a witness or Godparent. Maybe James Joseph Geoghegan b1808 d 1874 had a sister who married a Miggins. I have James parents as Patrick Geoghegan and Alice Mooney with the sponsor Mary Dowal baptised 23 Oct 1808 at Meath Dunboyne.

James Joseph Geoghegan then married Ellen Flood abt 1856, b abt 1825 d bef 1882. Children Patrick b 1856, Margaret b 1861, Bridget b 1865, James Joseph b1867, Thomas b1869. Patrick, Margaret and James immigrated to Australia. Bridget & Thomas I have no information on.

If you still have access to Kildakey records and are able to add any more information it would be very appreciated.

Kind regards
Kelly

Queenie Isabel Naomi King is the adopted daughter of William Casemore Knibbs and Sarah Elizabeth Hunter. Her parents are Frederick James King and Alice Naomi Berry. She was born and was raised in Mt Morgan. Queenie was adopted by family friends and remained close to her biological family.

Lodger, This is definitely the right family. I have been checking out census records to make sure that I am on the right track. Its really my first big search for records on this side on my tree, so wanted to double check. What a great thread for me that I found on good old google :)

Hi the date I had for Robert Littlejohn has come from ancestry. I don't have paper work to confirm it, so it could be incorrect. I have been trying to go back from Robert Littlejohn b 1830 in Wishaw, d 1884 in Sydney. He is my direct relation. He married Mary Inglis 1851 before emigrating. James Littlejohn you have found has the same parents, I didn't have him my tree. I know the parents names are correct
