Thanks Lisa, thought I would ask.
Isabell Hogg for reasons unknown left Mickley for Alnwick where she married Samuel Bell, it was their daughter who married a Matt Thompson. Both Bell/Thompson families were from Alnwick, so I agree there is no connection. Yet another FH coincidence!

Thank you very much for this Alan.
Definitely not your imagination re the remaining outline of the buildings. Lots of information here to look at which will add to the scant information I have re my g/grand mother’s early life.
Thank you for your time, I have copied the urls so I can research at leisure.

Chris.

Hi Lisa,
The Hogg seem to have had a connection with this house/village but I have never found a great deal of information. I think they moved there from Mickley.
Isabella Hogg was my g/grandmother. Her daughter Annie married a Matthew Thompson….are you related?

Thank you very much Jim 1, Gadget and John-76 for the quick reply and restoration work.

I was hoping this would date to around 1882/3, as I was convinced this was my 3x Gt Grandad. However he died at the date above age 64. This is the reality of family research I guess.
Anyway, it is a related family so I will label the image accordingly and note your comments. I have an album full of such images passed down from my Gt grandad, but sadly absolutely no information attached to any of them.
Thank you all once again.

Hello
This is a photograph of a photograph. The Bell family lived in Alnwick Northumberland between 1800 and 1900. Could anyone give me a guide date of the photo that would enable me to establish which generation of Bells these are.
Thank you
CB

Laurence, I have just seen your post.
Was your mothers name Hilda. I don’t remember the Richardsons. We live between Mrs Horn and the Scotts. The Slimmings family lived a few doors away, Stephen was about my age.
As you can see from my post I have been trying to find a photo of the street.
Regards Chris.
