Australia / A shot in the dark for Harrop/Thompson
« on: Monday 26 May 14 18:08 BST (UK)  »
A shot in the dark here guys....

Do we have anyone here researching the name Harrop, maiden name Thompson?

My research goes back from my paternal aunt and one I never met, a  Lillian Harrop born Wharfedale 15 December 1920, deceased c2007 and whose family hailed from the Leeds area of west Yorkshire in England. Lillian had two brothers, and one sister - Joe, George and Mary and emigrated to Queensland Australia probably on an assisted passage back in the early 1960's. Lillian's husband went by the name of Norman.

Many thanks

Family History Programs, Tree Organisation, Presentation / Family tree template
« on: Thursday 22 May 14 12:20 BST (UK)  »
Not sure where to post this but....

Now that ancestry.com seem to have removed a family tree printout option, can anybody steer me in the direction of a family tree template and one that I can fill in on line as it were.

In the first instance what I am looking to do in particular is to construct a family tree showing just the male line running back. We all know how huge these things can get if we start to put all the family onto just the one tree. Once done I can then print it out and perhaps frame it for the family - that's the idea anyway.

Thanks guys.

Tried that and it gave no end of problems plus of course it 'insists' on having those coloured inks installed.

Technical Help / Fed up - cost of Inkjet inks
« on: Wednesday 14 May 14 07:41 BST (UK)  »
Fed up with paying through the nose for those coloured inks and having less use for them these days, can anybody recommend a black only printer scanner?

Looking round it seems my only option is a laser printer but these seem rather bulky.

Cheers guys.

Many thanks for that, I will give it a try.
Good to hear that it is possible anyway, and of course saves having to buy one of those 'smart' televisions we were all hearing about.

Regards

Probably not KG, but maybe there is some sort of plug in or interface I could use?
It's all very complicated  :(

Thanks.
