Thank you Andy. I was able to obtain valuable genealogical information because of your taking the time to tell me about these records. I received the document from the Leeds Diocesan Archives. I feel that the facts contained therein will lead to more information. John Fitzpatrick was sentenced to the Industrial School because of neglect. The document provided a date, a court and a judge. I hope I can find the court records now.

Andy, I am wondering exactly what you were able to find. I am in the United States and I am not able to simply go to the archives. The archivest wrote to me and said that he had found John Fitzpatrick in the admissions register. I am wondering what exactly that means? Is there a file? Will he simply be sending me a paper with a name on it? I don't want to pester anyone but I am just wondering. If I must pay someone for research I am willing to do so.

What does the admission register consist of?

One more thing. John's brother Michael went to a reformatory. Can you give me any idea as to why that would happen? I am under the impression that he was probably stealing. Anyway, thank you for your help.

I am wondering about the success that anyone has had in looking for records from this institution. I am researching the name Fitzpatrick and the time around 1891. Thanks for any advice.
