Oxfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Beauchamp Fisher Row Oxford

That is great - are you one of my family then.  I am not really the one that is looking, it is my sister Janet, so I don't really know what to ask or say, it is only that I know there is a connection and that we have photographs of older relatives stood outside the door/cottage.

I will see her tomorrow and then get back to you, meanwhile, if you have any info that I can give to her, it will be much appreciated and she will be so excited to have got a stage further.   For your info, we are Margaret and Janet Beauchamp twin daughters of Albert (Joseph) Beauchamp.  Our father had a twin brother called Abel, another brother called George, two sisters call Fanny (maybe Francis) and Lucy.  These two married Hough brothers called Albert and Ted.  Their parents were George and Clara Beauchamp and I also believe that there are two other children - possibly called Humphries, that were with them on the boat during a census.  There is a lot more (too much to list) but I think this Fisher Row was a bit of a stumbling block for her.

regards
Margaret

Hello again,

Sorry forgot to mention that the name Humphreys is also mentioned - I believe that a census shows two children by the name of Humphreys living with them and their children on the canal.  George & Clara's children were, Albert (known as Joe - my father), Abel (my father's twin brother, George, Lucy and Fanny (might be Francis).

regards

Hello, you mention George Beauchamp marrying Clara - this was my grand parents name.  They lived on the canal for at least two generations before.  There is some tie up with Oxford and a row of cottages on the canal there - something like Fisher Row I think.   Don't know if any of this helps.

regards

New to Roots and just browing around to get the feel of things when I came across you defending us boaters - Myself and my twin, Margaret & Janet Beauchamp (as was) come from a very long line of boatmen. My father was Albert Joseph, his twin brother was Abel and their siblings were Lucy (Married to Ted Hough), George (Married to Mary Cartwright) and Fanny (Married to Albert Hough) (I believe there were two other children with different names according to the census but know nothing about them).  Their parents were George & Clara Beauchamp.  Janet and I have gone back further but too much to list here.   Have you heard of any of us?   We may know your family name.

New to this site - My father was Albert Joseph Beauchamp, he was a twin with Abel, there was sisters Lucy and Fanny and another brother called George Beauchamp who married Mary Cartwright.  On her side of the family, there was also twin girls.  They lived first by the canal at West Drayton and then moved to Yiewsly, Middx,   All the children were born on the canal to George and Clara.
I don't know if this is the same family.
