Hi all, looking for information on any Lindop family from the Norton in the Moors area from 1750 to 1810. OR can anyone suggest a line of investigation say into tenant farmers at that time. Also does anyone have any information on the area of Norton known as "New Inn Bank" as it has cropped up on some christening information around 1790 - 1805.

I am looking for family tree or ancestor information concerning the LINDOP family of Richard and Hannah(nee: Serjant according to marriage certificate) married in Norton-in-the moors in 1782. I am also after any information on the parents of Richard and Hannah. I have established their children, one of which I am directly descended. Can anyone help or point in the right direction please :)?

The Common Room / Richard Lindop

Hello all, I have an ancestor Richard Lindop (born abt 1769) who married Hannah Sargeant in 28th April 1782 in Norton in the Moors, North Staffordshire. I am struggling with who he was. According to Ancestry and FindMyPast only 4 Richards were born in N. Staffs and S. Cheshire but I can find no link with my Richard. A possible father could be a William Lindop married to Mary Rowson. Any help would be most appreciated.

Lancashire / Maud Seymour Dittmer 1883 - 1913
« on: Friday 10 January 14 13:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, can anyone help me please. I am researching my family history and have come up against a wall. I am looking for information of the death of Maud Seymour Dittmer (nee: Lindop) in 1913. She died with her 2y.o son George apparently on the same day. The deaths were registered on the same GRO sheet on September 1913 at Prescott where they lived. Have tried registering with Liverpool echo but not on the 3 pages I chose. Unfortunately house bound due to illness so a trip to Liverpool records not viable. Her husband was Christopher Fredrick (Fred) Dittmer who died on the SS Verdi torpedoed in August 1917 and is on the roll of honour in Liverpool cathedral. Any suggestions?
