Thank you! Since I posted a little bit ago, I found that Rev. Robert Matthews was assigned to St. Patrick's COI in Ballymena. And his daughter also named a son Robert Beresford Henry (Donegal Co).  He was also cited in the Topicial Dictionary of Ireland, 1837 as being the Master of the Diocesan school of Armagh and Connor.  And again found a citation for year 1841 that Rev. Robert Matthews was under clerical surperidence of Rev. William Reeves, D.D. (who also married the daughter Kate Matthews, of Rev Robert Matthews to William Henry, ESQ of Ballyshannon, Donegal County). Michelle

Kate Matthews after her marriage to MR. William Henry, Esq, back to where he lived; Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, Ireland -- where they also were found to have children as found online:

Daughter born June 27, 1859
Son born October 28, 1860
Son born November 19, 1861 (see below, this is Robert Beresford Henry)
DIED son named Robert Beresford, aged 9 months. Date of death: August 14, 1862

Here is the link I found above on:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~donegal/kilbarronbmdnotices.htm

There might be "Henry" information found that can bend back to the Rev. Robert Mathews family found in Co. Donegal - just sharing what I found in my search for info about this Rev who married my GGG Grandfather in Ballymena. I am not related to the Matthews family. I am not related to the Mathews family.

I am wondering which church in Ballymena that Rev. Robert Matthews presided over? I am not related, rather Rev. Robert Matthews married my GG Grandfather and his 2nd wife in October of 1846 -- but the church isn't cited -- and it is difficult to locate info on this Pastor -- wondering if anyone might know? Thanks much. Michelle ;D

My GGG Grandmother was Nancy "Agnes" (nee Craig) Gordon w/o Thomas Gordon. Agnes was born circa 1801, and she married Thomas circa 1820.  Their first born child, per an entry from her Bible was Rose Gordon; October 28, 1822, second born was John Gordon May 22, 1824 -- all born on the Townland of Drummuck (near Village of Broughshane), Co. Antrim, Ireland.  I have NO idea of the parents or siblings of Agnes. I suspect she "may" have been married in the church now known as Cunningham Memorial of Cullybacky. Does anyone know if those marriages, which are extant from 1818-1838, in the books of this church have been transcribed and online? The names of the children of Thomas and Agnes (Craig) Gordon and in order of birth were: Rose, John, James, Thomas, Jane, Grace, David, Nancy (Agnes), Rebecca and Joseph. After Thomas died in 1851, his widow and some of her children removed to live in Ontario Canada, where she died in 1877 and is buried. Children who remained in Co Antrim later left and also removed to live in Canada and my line removed from Canada to live/pass in the state of Michigan USA.  Thanks, Michelle

Hi!  How have you been?  My computer crashed so I've been out of researching for a couple of weeks. How might I inquire of someone  to look up one death notice that I found, but I cannot access - ancestry doesn't, of course, have the last 6 months loaded for this year...as I found a reference she (Mary Speer Campbell) in the Belfast News issue; Dec 8, 1887 -- as it may indicate where she was buried. Any guidance will be helpful!  Thanks....still COLD, and getting colder. Spring can't be too far away now I pray. Michelle

It's BACK!  The PR word..... =  (Polar Vortex).  Brrrrrr .....this morning as I rise I learn it is -9 degrees and they are saying MORE snow is coming tonight! We've already recieved a total...... WITH 3 months of winter to go a...... about 45" of snow fallen already. So we are still diggin our way out.

Red hairs/moustache....funny!  Some Scandanavian perhaps ????

Yep, still looking for Campbell information. I did write to the fella who has the McKinney info, but to date, he hasn't written back.

Quern is an interesting name as well. One of Mary Speer (nee Graham) Campbell (b. 1818 d. 1887), who was the wife/widow of Samuel Campbelll b. circa 1809 d. 1854 (s/o James Campbell and Margaret Parker)...named a son James Campbell, he was 2nd born, and he and his wife named a son David Quern Campbell. This David Quern Campbell died about 1.5 months after his father James Campbell (b. circa 1843), in the year 1927. Both are buried at Carnmoney. So I did see that there was a Rev. Quern and wondered if there was another relationship to the Campbells and/or James' wife's family.

Mary was born on the Townland of Creevamoy, near Broughshane, Co Antrim Ireland.  think her parents were COI, as her father married 2nd in 1846 and he and his wife were COI per the marriage entry I do have. So I am seeking to find Samuel and Mary's marriage entry, probably COI. They married circa 1837, but just not sure where. Perhaps COI records would reveal their marriage information -- yet to order those films in to review. I did write to the First Pres. Church of Ireland -- as that is where her brother, my line, Nathaniel Graham and his wife were married and had their 7 children baptised before they removed from Ireland for Ontario Canada, later state of Michigan.

All I know :-)

Did you ever find your Dunne ancestors? I "think" my Richard Dunn b. circa 1815 who was from County Louth may be related? As I find a Richard Dunn in the Tithe Survey for Pollbrock. I haven't ANY clue to who his parents were...his death certificate does not name his parents. He removed from Ireland post 1850 - yet to find him on a ship manifest, for the state of Michigan in the USA. He was married to a Bridget, and their two children were; Betsey and Michael. THey may have had more children, but to date these are the only two that have surfaced. I descend out of Richard through Michael b. 1840 in County Louth and died here in Michigan, he is my Great Grandfather. Betsey never married. Any help?  ::)Thanks, Michelle

That would be most kind.  I am looking for Thomas Dunne b:(abt) 1828 d: (abt)1870.  Son of Patrick Dunne, wife's name Margaret Dunne (nee Grimes) of Pollbrock.  I sure hope you find something, I have been looking for him for 5 yrs now without any luck at all.  Hard for me to search the graveyards being thousands of miles away.  Thank you again, I truly appeciate it.

Hi! You wrote about Rev. Robert Mathews...born 1798 Cashel. Is this the same Cashel as found on the Townland of Creevamoy (very near the Village of Broughshane, which is 2 miles thereabouts from Ballymena) in Co. Antrim? I have a Wm. Graham who married 2nd to a Sally Morton in 1846 in Kirkkinriola, Ballymena...and the marriage was performed by Rev. R. Matthews. Wm was living on the Townland of Creevamoy, and some of my Gordon's clan also on Creevamoy, but they always cited their area on Creevamoy as "Cashel". Why I am inquiring. I am seeking to find out the church in which Wm and Sally were married, thinking it may have been St. Patrick's in Ballymena. So I am doing some hunting around certain information known. Thanks much for any reply. Michelle
