Perthshire / Re: Gaudy/Goudi/Gowdey House, Crieff - Evacuation during WWII

Hi,

Am doing a bit of research for a friend - her father and uncle were evacuated from Glasgow to Crieff in WWII.  Her uncle can only remember it was a big house outside Crieff and the owner was either a GP or a JP.  Wondering if it could be this Gwydyr House?  The boys were John and James Sangster.  Cheers

I am researching Robert Stirling Brown and Elizabeth Emily Colville - they are the great grandparents of a lady I'm doing the research for.  Have quite a lot on the Browns although struggling a bit with the parents John Brown and Mary Stirling - both born in County Antrim (no link to a farm in Stirling that I have found).  Cannot find John's death (after 1881) and thought I had Mary's - however, this was a poorhouse death and I think given son Robert's successful business it would be unlikely she died a pauper.  Couldn't find a marriage in Scotland for Robert jr and Astrid either so must have married elsewhere   ???

I have the Darvel MIs - had a quick look for your Cochranes but there do not seem to be any as early as your looking for.  Message me if you'd like the more recent ones.

Cheers :)

Hi do you have a picture of the SCOTT HAY LAWSON stone - particularly interested in Mary Scott (Hay) who died 1839.  Thanks in advance  :)

It is too big to post so I can send it to you when you have made 3 posts.

It was erected by Thomas Scott, Farmer in Netherhall, Lesmahagow

Thanks - lost my original login for this site so had to create new one - better get posting!
