Hi Keith,
Sorry the 2 convicts I meant were on Tanswell and Roberts sides.
I note that you have a marriage for George Roberts marrying a Stephens? however the information I have is he married Lillie Warman, they were still having children up to 1905? I do not have that he married Esther Stephens.  Can you check your information?
I believe when John Tanswell (Martha's brother) and family visited Aunty Martha in 1951, he said he saw the family Bible on a cabinet in Aunty Martha's house. My mother has an amazing memory for things like that, and she was 13 at the time. There were other items that were from Thomas and Ann's household as well. (obviously there was a discussion in the car after they left Martha's house)

Mum is now 74 and we have been doing the family history for over 30 years.  It was very difficult back then awaiting for documents to be sent back with a 2 week wait.

In regards to siblings of Thomas C and Ann Roberts,
(mum has met 6 plus of course her father, there were 11 altogether)

Thomas, Henry died 1879 approx 4 yrs old, Emily, Albert, Sarah, Martha, Francis aka Frank, Rose, John (my mother's dad) David, Lucy.

Let me know if you wish to confirm dates etc.

I do have your email address now as well.

Speak soon.

Unwanted Birth, Marriage, Death Certs N to S / Re: unwanted marriage cert. Peddle.Dix

Hi Keith,

(GGF Thomas Cornelius Tanswell) My Great Grandfathers son John Tanswell married Elizabeth Quince.

(GM Elizabeth Quince) Elizabeth Quince's Grandmother (My GGGM was Elizabeth Tanswell) - sister of Thomas Cornelius Tanswell.

It sounds about as technical as your family line, if I am reading it correctly!  My mother is still living and she remembers visiting her Aunty Martha about 1950-51.   It was told to my mother by her father that Aunty Martha had the family bible.  Were we lucky enough for it to have survived the years?

I am sorry Keith, I never received a copy of the marriage Cert. I had no reply from the lady.

Do you know of the 2 convicts on your line?  Just to extend the collection, my maiden name is 'Hall'.
I also have some infamous ancestors, on my father's side.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Keith,  I am also tracing the Tanswell/Peddle line. My mother (nee Tanswell) family are from Narromine and Condobolin. It would be great to see where your connection is.

Somerset Lookup Requests / Re: Help with WALTON & LOCKYER families Somerton
« on: Thursday 26 January 12 02:02 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Doc,  I note that you are following the Walton/Lockyer family and we may link ancestors as we are descendants from Henry Walton's (who married Sarah Lockyer) sister Susannah Walton, who grandchildren came out to Australia c. 1843, from Somerset.  Looking forward to hearing from you, and it appears Helen Qld, is also related.

Hi,   I have been following the Peddle family in Somerset and Eliza Peddle & Samuel Dix are direct relatives to me. I would welcome a copy of the certificate, if possible. Eliza Peddle is sister to my great grandfathers mother.

Thank you ladies so very very much, I could kiss the ground you walk on.  ;D

For many years we believed Alice was born in Hull, Yorkshire however, when I could not find her birth there, I searched for information from different sources e.g medical records that had been archived for 30 yrs.
Debbie, this would very well be her family  :) in Derbyshire.  :D  thank you.

The mother's name was on a medical record (perhaps the doctor spelt it incorrectly) she could very well be the Alice Marsh married in 1891, especially as you say Suz, the address is very close to where a Fred W & Family were living in 1891.  Thank you so much too.

I got shivers as I read this information. I have researched many of my ancestors back to 1700's in England but with my own grandmother I could'nt even find her own family, I was so disheartened for many years.  I only as recently as last week (being 30 yrs since Alice's death) obtained the medical records which helped with Derbyshire and her being the eldest child of 7, being great leads.

I can't thank you enough for your help, Debbie and Suz,
I am in Australia and if there is anything I can do to help with your research ladies, I would be more than happy to help anyway I can, just message me.

Kind Regards
Caron  ;D

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / 1892 Parish Record PEARSON
« on: Wednesday 29 March 06 02:33 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am trying to find my Grandmother's Birth Record.
Alice Elizabeth PEARSON b. 19 January 1892 Glapwell, Derbyshire
to a Frederick William Pearson and Alice (nee March).
Also it would be great if someone could check the 1901 Census for Chesterfield area for the above family. Or perhaps parents show in derbyshire for 1891 census.
I believe Alice was the eldest of 7 children. (approx 9 yrs in 1901)
Alice was the bride of a WWI Australian soldier, married in Southall England in 1918 and came out to Australia with her husband in 1919. I have her marriage cert. It only gives detail of father's name.
I have been searching for my grandmother's family for over 25 yrs without success, I am hoping that this posted message will help me find the information.

Regards
Caron
