:( Thank you Chester for your quick reply.  Please could I send you a PM with my email address just in case I have one of those eureka moments that proves fruitful, and then I can pass on anything I may find with you.
I have gone back a few generations on the Hamilton side should this be of any interest to you?
Thanks again Hem

Hello Chester.

I am also very interested in John McCue B;1816 Ireland and married to a Catherine O'Connor as I believe that they are my husband's 4x great grandparents.  All I think I know is that they had a son John born c1837 and he married a Margaret Bailey b c1839 in Cheshire?
John and Margaret also had a son John Mckew (spelling variation) born Newcastle-On-Tyne I think on 5th July 1862.  Through my searching I believe that according to other's research he is on the 1881 census as aboard vessels with the Royal Navy (although I haven't found this data as yet).  I can tell you that he must have ended up in Australia (I can't find any proof of desertion) as he married Ellen Kemp (b:1857 Glenfield NSW) in Wooloomooloo in 1887.
This John McKew and Ellen also had a son John B:1888 in Parramatta married Evelyn Maud Hamilton (B:1893 Granville NSW) in 1911 in Parramatta.  I can also tell you that John and Evelyn also had a son called John B 1911 D:1982 and that they had a bakery in Maroubra Junction.
Sorry I can't give you any concrete confirmation but I really do believe that we are looking for the same family members.  I have also noted that you are interested in a Jemima Beatty who married a William Hamilton and again we appear to be on the same trail.
Please get in touch to share information I would really like to hear from you. Hem

Hello Lipscombe

I am very interested in any information you might be able to share regarding Jemima Beatty.  I feel very certain that she is my husband's great, great great grandmother that I've managed to track down through a somewhat exhausting search.  Her first born son William John b.1867 on Dog Trap road married a Sarah Elizabeth Burless (B: 1871 in Wollongong) in Sydney 1891.  From what I have managed to find out without any real degrees of certainty is that Jemima's father Benjamin immigrated to Queensland aboard the "Queen of the Colonies" 1866 (I think that was the name of the ship)!  Jemima in 1865 aboard the "Light of Age" also to Queensland.  Then on the 13th June 1867 with her sister Sarah travelled from Brisbane to Sydney aboard the "Florence Irving".
Hopefully we are talking about the same Jemima Beatty, and I would be more than interested if you or anyone else has more information.  Thank you.
