Hi,
I'm trying to find any information about a Howard or Howley family living in Westland Row, Dublin in the 1930s.  I would appreciate if anyone is able to look up the Dublin electoral lists for this period and let me know what, if anything, is found.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi SMG,
Thanks for trying.  The original is very poor, but unfortunately it's all we have.
Many thanks

Thank you all very much for trying.  The quality of the photo was very poor, but you have given great-gran a face which is much appreciated.

Hi,
I've attached two photographs which I would like help with.

The first is my Great Grandmother.  Unfortunately, the quality of the photo is very poor.  I would appreciate if anybody is able to restore the photo to give a sharper image.

The second photo is my Great Grandmother's son.

All I know about these people is that their surname is Thompson and they were from Northern Ireland. Any information that you can tell from the photos such as possible dating would be much appreciated.

Hi Pollux83,
You've thrown up some new questions for me in my search.

I was wondering if you could give me some more information about Frederick Campbell? If you've ever heard the surname Reynolds in connection with Alice Moore.  Also, does the name Kitty Thwaites mean anything to you?

Lastly, any information you could give on Eugene would be appreciated, as he remains a mystery.

Hi aghadowey,

We think this is Alfred Moore's baptismal record.

We've come across the surname Purcell for Mary's mother, but cannot confirm that yet.

Many thanks.

Dear all,

You've given me loads to investigate. It will take a while to track down what is relevant & what's not, but hopefully we're on the right track.

I'd like to thank everyone who has helped on this.

Terence, Michael & Eugene are names he told the family.  I think that if he did have another name, it was changed early on & he didn't know about it.

MargP,
A lot of names are coming up in the family more than once - e.g. lots of Alfreds & Georges. So far we have no connection to any Philips. We were just reading another chat line that said that sometimes a  child could have died & the next child given the same name.  Don't know if you've heard of that before.

I think for now we need to follow your suggestions & track down John/James & deceased child to see what that gives us.  Many thanks
