Great. Thank you Shellesq.
So we have Hanna Hansen née Christiansen born on 22nd August 1886 in Trondheim, Norway.
Hanna died on 18th April 1978 in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA at the home of her son Ernest Hansen.
I am pretty sure that Ernest died on 11th September 2000 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

I have now found the 1950 Census record for Hanna Hansen living at 7117 Fort Hamilton Parkway, Brooklyn. She is widowed.

A death date of 11th February 1950 would seem correct as I haven't found a 1950 Census record for Gustav, Hanna or their son Ernest.
The obituary confirms everything we know about Gustav. His date of birth was 28th March 1881 in Nyborg, Denmark.
Thank you very much Shellyesq.

There is a headstone at Mount Olivet Cemetery which has Gustav Hansen 1881-1950, Hanna Hansen 1886-1978 and C Christiansen 1848-1932.
The only death record I could find for Gustav is a date of 10th January 1952 in Brooklyn. So did he die in 1950 or 1952?
The date of death I found for Hanna Christiansen Hansen is 18th April 1978 in Greensboro, North Carolina. That appears to be correct.
C Christiansen would be Martha Christina née Knudsen, mother of Hanna, with a date of death as 12th December 1932. That also appears to be correct.
So, when did GUSTAV HANSEN die?
AS always, I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I don't read Russian either, unfortunately.
If the family name was ZANDT, would we still bee looking for a Russian C (for Sand) or the Russian letter that sounds like "TS?"
The link took me to 386 pages. I could not see how to "search vital records." Can anybody help?

Thanks very much for your help.
The birth certificate for Morris (Moses) Sand Zandt may be elusive, but getting a certified copy of the marriage between Morris and Naomi (known in the family as Emma) will be a boon. We will continue to look for the birth certificate/record of course.
Family records have the parents of Morris as Solomon Sand Zandt and Sheba Gosherowski who apparently remained in Poland and died in 1938 and 1934 respectively.
Morris died on 26th December 1984 in Broward, Florida, USA. Emma (Naomi) died on 22nd May 2003 in Calistoga, California, USA.
