Sorry you had trouble making contact.

Try again at    ken95 at me dot com

substitute the usual for 'at' and 'dot'. It is all one word.

Ken Harvey

I wonder if anyone can give me a second opinion on dating this ferrotype thought to be James Thomson, tutor, with sons, William and Robert by an anonymous photographer. Possibly taken in Belfast.

The image is on one sixth of a full 6-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch ferrotype plate. Image Area: 6.96 x 8.08 cm.
Son, William Thomson, would have been born in about 1787.
This is re-mastered version of original image in poor condition. The integrity of the original intention was carefully preserved. Modifications included cropping, histogram adjustment, selective sharpening, with spots, scratch and edge damage removal and some image reconstruction. Ferrotype lateral reversal has been corrected.

It is many years since I researched the Rye Harveys in the original registers, while dragging my heavy card index around. I am delighted to see that there are others who have become interested. These are my notes on John Harvey of the shipbuilders Harvey and Staffell.
