Hugh Galt WW1 is the witness signature on my great uncles Soldier's Will, Hugh and his family are from Stewarton in Ayrshire, below is some information on Hugh also naming his parents, his mother was Mary.  If anyone can help or suggest some way of contacting any living relatives of Hugh I'd be very grateful, I would like to send them a copy of this Will with Hugh's own signature.

Thanks
Alba

Ayrshire / School Archives

Hi Folks, Can anyone advise me, I am trying to find any info for my WW1 ancestor who attended ( I think?) Russell Street Primary School In Ayr Ayrshire, the family lived in Millars Building, King Street Ayr and he was born in 1899 in Ayr and was KIA in 1918 in France.  Just wondered if a register with his name would have been archived or was there any mention anywhere else in Ayr of former pupils of Ayr Schools who were in KIA WW1.  He is listed on the War Memorial in Wellington Gardens in Ayr.
Many Thanks

Kirkcudbrightshire / Re: Margaret Creighton & George Howat
« on: Thursday 02 April 15 15:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi Folks,

I'm not sure if the Howat's I'm searching for are the same family family as yours but here is my info:

Homer Howat married a Jane Kilty/Kiltie
Their son James Howat married a Jessie Elizabeth Paterson in 1904 Kirkcudbright
Jane Howat nee Kiltie death: 1891 Kirkcudbright
1891 Census they have 6 children James, William, Mary A, another dau? John & Margaret
1901 a son is added: Homer Howat age 1 so his mother Jane died just after his birth
James Howat married Jessie Elizabeth Paterson in 1904 Kirkcudbright, James is listed as being 23 and Jessie as 21  They are not on the 1911 census, but there is a James Howat on the Ellis Island passenger list age 28 and married can't confirm if this is him, no info for Jessie?
John is on the 1911 Census in Kilwinning single and a gardener, can't find a marriage for him.
Cheers
