Hi Kate,
   As it happens, I have just started a website on the Heaton Norris area. I have included a link below.
There's not much on it at the moment but hopefully I will be able to gather more material to improve the site.
 I'm afraid that I can't help you with the people you mention but perhaps my site will be of som interest to you.
