My Pidgley's originated from Thorney Hill Gypsy encampment in The New Forest Hampshire. We have a lot of connections to other Gypsy families in and around the New Forest.

Any info will be a great help as my mum and her sisters have all passed on,and the same for my Dad's side. By any chance do you know the maiden name of Robert's wife?. Thanks for reply Millipede, I must admit the surname Pidgley is spelt quite a few different ways. When i get chance i will contact the local church in Droxford to see if they have any record of Fred,as it was last place he was recorded alive. After Droxford the family moved to East Meon near Petersfield and then to Alton Hampshire where they settled. I started the Family research abit late,so most of the people who might of known have passed on. Ah well keep searching.

Hello All, Im trying to find out what happened to my Great uncle Fred Pidgley born 1876 in Fareham. I found him on the 1891 aged 15 living in caravans and tents at Glidden Droxford near Hambledon Hampshire. Nothing since. His father was Robert Pidgley born 1848 Hilsea near Portsmouth. His sister Caroline Pidgley is my Grandmother. Also his other siblings were Maria/Rose/Ellen/Henry/and Pheony also known as Fanny. Any help welcomed Thanks.
