Hi yes have noticed on the census they drop and add the O. On the christening Her parents are William and Rosie Neal ,she was born 1900 and William Ridley and Rosie O,neal marry 1902.In the 1901 census she is listed as Maggie Yates .They family always thought her surname was Ridley, even one of her children has Yates as  mother maiden name the rest are O,neal

My grandmother christened Margaret Elizabeth Neal married William Edward Cross in 1918,on her wedding certificate her name is down as Margaret Elizabeth O,neal Ridley,her father is also listed as O,neal Ridley,he was born William Ridley, the O,neal comes from her mothers surname .

Hi new to all this ,I'm also looking for Ridley family my grandmothers(Margaret Elizabeth Oneal ridley) father William Oneal ridley is listed as showman on her wedding certificate dated 1918 in Bristol have you came across any of these names
