My british ancestor was Charles Hamilton of New Shoreham (born 1833, died in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1868), while my gg gm was named Consolata Caruana. They had for sure a daughter named Elizabeth, born 1863 in Constantinople; probably a son too, named Charles (as his father), who was born 1862 and died in 1899 in Odessa.
No more details known in my family.

Hello,
I'd like to know where I can search (online) for a marriage between a British National and a woman from Malta, marriage celebrated in Constantinople, about 1860.

Any suggestion greatly welcome.

Hope you'll have more success than I did. I've put a request on ABEBOOKS.com, and I'm still waiting.

I ask you, please, if you get a positive answer, to give me Tumminelli reference and address, as I did not find it.
Thank you in advance
Roberto

Hi,
the book is quite impossible to buy, also used.

In palermo it is available in some libraries, but often not to be borrowed, but only to be read in the halls.

Where can I look for information about a shipping company owned by Consolata Hamilton (born Caruana) based in Kertch, Crimea, between 1880-1910 (not sure about the range)?

The ssteam tug Victoria belonged to the company fleet, and made a rescue to the Britsih ship DOVEDALE (http://www.plimsoll.org/resources/SCCLibraries/WreckReports2002/18707.asp?view=text).   ::)

Suggestione greatly appreciated,

Hi there,

My gg gf Charles Hamilton from Shoreham, married Consolata Caruana (from Malta  ??) in 1860 about, probably in Constantinople, where my g gm Elizabeth Hamilton was born 1863.
I'd like to get info about the marriage between Charles and Consolata.

But also about Consolata, I do not know much, so any info is greatly welcome.
