Hi TreeSpirit,

I will review the document of Isabella closer.  Dorothea could not be the mother as she died in 1904 while Isabella is indicated as being born in 1907.  Thanks for checking as this is a roadblock for me.

gmauchan,  Gwendolyn was married twice prior to marrying my grand uncle. The children she had was with her second husband if memory serves me correctly. Iffey is her maiden name and Paulson and Adonis are her married names. George was married prior to marrying Gwendolyn and I am trying to find out what happened to his first wife and if they had any children. On his marriage certificate to Gwendolyn it appears he had to receive a clearance from the court in regards to his first marriage, prior to marrying Gwendolyn.

Priscilla, yes I did see the posting by Micah Chisholm and have attempted to contact him. I have not received a response.

Thanks for your reply. I have his death certificate and the names of his children. I am seeking additional information on them and any other descendants. I don’t believe Gwendolyn Iffey was there mother based on the probate records.

I am seeking information on George Uriah Grey Chisholm.  He left Jamaica to settle in South Africa where he married Gwendolyn Iffey a South African woman.  I have found his marriage and death certificate but I have not been able to find any information on his children and other descendants.  I am hoping someone here have come across this information and able to assist.

Have you checked Family Search? Unfortunately the records are not in English therefore I am unable to assist. I also found on Ancestry where the fist name was changed so I suggest performing a search using the last name and Russia as the birth country

Hi KC83,

I have not come across much yet on James Edgar Clunis, however I found a Benjamin A Clunis who was born in Neath, Wales in 1918.  His mother's last name is listed as Harris.  I am sure there is a relation to James as the Clunis name is not very common.  I'll notify you if I stumble across any additional information.

Regards,

Shellie

Vella, it would be helpful if you provided a name and the year of death if known

The spelling of the name as you have it is not Norwegian therefore conducting a search using that spelling will not help. In Norwegian Lawrence is spelt: Lorentse, Lorents.  Johnson also appears with the alternate spelling of: Johnsen.  Hope that helps.

I hope you are still monitoring this forum.  I was able to find a John Constantine Mclennan. Born 16th May 1911 at 13 1/2 Harbour St. in Kingston, Jamaica to William Evan Donald McLennan and Vera Beatrice Bonitto (search her last name using the spelling Ronitto as well).  William and Vera were married on 2nd June 1909 at 13 1/2 Harbour St (Vera's home) at the age of 20 and 19 respectively.  Williams' father was Evan McLennan and Vera's father was Abraham Bonitto.  When searching for the Mclennan name also view records with the alternate spelling Mclennon.
