Her and Harry Sumpners only daughter is my mum Anne Reed living in Pudsey, her dad Harry Sumpner died when she was 2 1/2 and Grandma (winnie) brought her up alone. I am very active in researching family trees but have struggled with the sumpners not much available on gaeneology website. Hope to hear from you, Helen.

Sorry getting late here ;D

I have her down as a Selina Winn Scarborough in my tree but don't have relevant cert to hand to double check.

So maybe could rule out selina ann and mary selina?

Also take a stab at her mother being a Winn?

cheers

Nick

Have found pictures of the present mill but would like any further information either on the Mill or family Horsfield residents c. 1851. I have the 1851 census.
Many thanks

Hi,
My name is Claire Barraclough.
Swillington Mill aka Colton Mill, was later re-named by the locals as "Barracloughs Mill" (stated on the colton village website.
My great grandparents John & Gertrude Barraclough lived at and worked this mill, jointly with John Barracloughs brother.
My grandma and her brother & sister were brought up at the mill.
It laid derelict for many years and I believe became a listed building around 1970.
I believe it is now a harvester restaurant/pub.
Regards
Claire
