Did you find out anything more on the Watts family?  Hannah Watts (daughter of John and Honour) is my great great Grandma so I'd be interested in any information you found.

Does anyone have access to the marriage records Exhall and Wixford? I'm interested in the marriage of Thomas Watts and Sarah Hunt (1 January 1808) In particular the name of Sarah's father.

thanks

Hello and that you for replying so quickly.

Honor and John's daughter Hannah Watts married Richard Bray.  Hannah and Richard's son Frederick married Elizabeth Sharratt daughter of Mary Ann and Francis Sharratt.  Elizabeth and Frederick are my great great grandma/father. I'm looking into the family history and thought there might be a travelling connection.  I thought it more likely to be the Sharratt line but was intrigued by Honor Cooper as I couldn't find any mention of her prior to her wedding record and I know Cooper can be a travellers surname.

Generally the reason for looking for a travelling connection is the location of the family (near canals and near black patch park) and that my Grandma had very dark skin/eyes/black hair which made her look more Mediterranean than British.

I'm interested in finding more about whether either of the above have any connection with the travelling community.

Honour married John Watts (a flour dealer and baker) in Aston 9th July 1837 but I can't find any records for her before that date.

The Sharratt family (I'm related to Francis Sharratt born in Fazeley in 1825ish) appear to have been around the Tamworth area as farm labourers and later around the canals of Smethwick. Francis's address in the 1861 census is "canel banks" and he is described as a gardener. His son Jon is described as a carter in a later census.
