Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Help! Ratby Copeland/Coopland
« on: Sunday 13 June 10 19:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am finding it really difficult to trace back my family later than 1810/1800.

I have a Sarah Coopland/Copeland, born Ratby 1810, died 1888. Married a George Bott and lived in Markfield.

I can not manage to find her parents

Any tips?

Many thanks in advance!

Jemma

Hi,

Don't know if you have found this already (as certain information I wasn't sure about, vicars and all that lol) but I found a John and Elizabeth Wileman on the 1851 census, living in Derbyshire.
He was born in Measham and 38 years old (c. 1813). He lived with wife and children Michael, Jemima, William and Georgianna. They also had a lodger.

Any chance these are them?

Maybe the same one?

Hi, thankyou for your response.

All I have is: Birth 1814 Melbourne Derbyshire.

1851 (age 37) melbourne, coal dealer

1861 (age 47) melbourne, garden lab.

He had: charlotte, jane, william, sarah, john, lewis.

Thats all I have! Do you think that is a possibility that hannah is his mother?

Hi Jill thankyou for your reply. I think that might be him, but I don't know where to go from here to make sure it is him and who his father is? Im really confused lol. Maybe if I find their marriage records, but its all guessing!

Hi, I am trying to find the parents of William Bartram born in Melbourne Derbyshire about 1814. I know his spouse was Elizabeth and they had about 7 children. They lived in High Street Derby and he was a coal dealer. Any information would be great or any ideas of where to go next! Thankyou
