Firstly my most sincere apologies Steve to only getting back to you now. Life got in the way ! Secondly thank you so much for all the wonderful information about Thomas and I totally agree with Sandy, just 'brill' work.

Yes that is Thomas on the 1911 census home on leave. And I have been checking for any service records and I can only find the 4 pages on FindMyPast the same as Mary Taylor, but so great to even find them. And yes they say he joined the regiment in 1906. It was also great to read his personal description on them.

I have requested a photo of Thomas's memorial and Frederick's grave but then later while searching the internet I actually came across a photo of Thomas's memorial from someone who was researching the name below his on the memorial. It was quite moving to suddenly come across it.

Thank you once again Steve for all your excellent work and the great information.

Cassie :)

PS. Just reading through the information you provided again Steve and it is simply fantastic the details you provide. Ok off to make cuppa and then read again  ;D

Wow thank you so much everyone.

Great idea Victor, I will contact the museum, forgot about them so thank you for reminding me.

Thank you Sandy for the welcome and information, I will get their medal cards and I have read the information on Mary Taylors site (brill site), and is that the National Roll of the Great War ? If so I might have that.

Thank you Steve for the information about the D.C.M. and helping, made me cry to think of all he/they did and went through.

They also had a older half brother Joseph who served with the Royal Engineers and was gassed at Cambrai in 1917 and so discharged medically unfit.

I really do appreciate all the help, I have been trying to find out about family members who served in W.W.1 and though these gentlemen are not on my direct line, we share x great grandfathers (2 brothers married 2 sisters, they come from one line, me from the other) I would like to honour them in my own small way by finding out as much as I can about them and telling their story.

Both my Grandfathers and one Great Grandfather (and several Great Uncles and x cousins) served in W.W.1, and my maternal grandfather (he was a lovely man) was injured, lost several fingers on his hand. And I am trying to find out what I can but, to be honest I dont understand a lot of it  :)
So I really do appreciate the help.

Thank you, Cassie :)

Hi Mick
Have have you looked on the Worldconnect site 'Families of Towcester, Northamptonshire' by Mary Taylor and also checked out Mary's site 'Towcester Families'.
Looks like your James Sharp is on there - If you contact Mary Taylor she should will be able to help you further if need be. She knows all about Towcester.
