ShaunJ Thank you so much. Many years ago I went to Kew & slogged though the documents to find which regiment My G. Grandfather was in I only had the year he married to go by. I managed to find he went to Canada shortly after marrying my great Grandmother and various other things. I am unable to do that now. I hope one day to get back to my F.H. - this was a long shot as I have not much time - even the last info I asked for Jan. this year I have been unable to check So thanks again & if you find anything else I will be extremely pleased

one of my great grandfathers brothers was called Josiah Whitehead he was born in South Petherton Somerset. 1841 he was shown as 15yrs. which of course maybe approximate
My great Grandfather married in Dublin & I came across a marriage in Dublin for a Josiah Whitehead who married Anna Nicholson in the parish church of St Paul on 25th Aug 1854 It states his father was James which would be correct if he is my relative - he was a soldier as was my g. grandfather. Anna's father was a servant William Nicholson.
I have never been able to find this couple again. It is possible he went abroad & was killed
Would anyone kindly search for them for me as I would dearly love to know where they went
Look forward to your replies

Sandra thank you for all your efforts I have hopefully sent all info to my friend. I think the death date was mixed up with the later death of a son by a relative of his. I will wait for his reply

I will take all this into account.

Any more info will be appreciated .
