Thanks Annie, thanks Wendi, realy pleased with them to say the least.
Still not sure why he enlisted under a different name though, possible he enlisted under age i suppose, will have to look up his date of birth.

Hello and a belated merry Xmas and new year to you all.

my gt grandfather was a fireman on the M. V. Sitala when it was sunk by a U boat in October 1940, he was 62 years of age at the time and the only member of the ship that did not survive, do i take it that he would be entitled to this Emblem?

Ahh yesss now i see, never considered Sarah's parents in the equation.
Not that i doubted Rambler for a moment of course, although it does prove that i am verging slightly on the thick side when it comes to something staring me in the face.

cheers gentlemen, excellent.

cheers Rambler, much appreciated.
He may have been removed 3 times but he'se back in the fold now ;D

Incidently, he was killed in action in 1915 aged 18 at Gallipoli
while serving with the Lancashire Fusiliers. He seved under the name of Bagg, not sure why, maybe Vagg sounded to much of a German name?

cheers Rambler
